And…. starfish! πŸ˜‚ the only way to sleep πŸ˜Š

Sleeping problems: never had them before kids.

“Be patient,” they said. “They’ll sleep through when they’re ready,” they said. “These years don’t last forever,” they said.

Whoever “they” is, pop over here, when I muster up the energy I’ll give you a slap πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ (still waiting for my eldest to sleep through and he’s nearly 11).

So after night 3 of limited sleep, after Fred fell from the top bunk at 2am and woke the world, after Sid got out of bed and relived his dream around the van, and after endless night toilet visits, we rearranged the sleeping to include Sid in our bed.

For a small boy, he takes up a lot of room. And fidgets. But its lovely to have littley cuddles.

Anyway. Enough moaning! We are having a ball! We’ve been on 5 beaches since my last blog… they’re beautiful and some are so remote that we haven’t seen a soul.

Beautiful Whangamata was my favourite so far…

We dug holes in Hot Water Beach and scolded our bums in the water (it’s amazing to be sitting in hot water while the cold tide rushes up around you! )

We drove through beautiful Tauranga and stayed overnight in Pukehina, which is a quiet, remote place with a huggeeeeeeee long beach, we had Fush n Chups on the beach and the kids chased away the seagulls with their newly acquired fly swats… making lots of memories 😍

I’ve been looking at Pukehina places to rent for The last 6ish months, so it was ace to actually come here and see the place in the flesh.

Thumbs up there from Siddly 😁

We drove on through Whakatane (another day, another McDonalds πŸ˜‚) and made it to Opotiki, just past there is this King of Campgrounds in Tirohanga. Here we have managed to warm shower the boysΒ  (yes it really has been 5 days since we did that πŸ™ˆ) and get a washer and dryer load done 😎

There is a swimming pool and a play area and a trampoline.. this place is kids paradise. We spent the whole day getting wet and sandy and Mark got the fishing rod out… kids caught a total of 7 clams and 3 crabs. What can I say, it’s a small rod.

Just had a FaceTime with my folks too which has made my morning 😊😊😊 although the wifi was a bit dodgy, which I’m sure is why I look so rough at 8am πŸ™ˆπŸ™Š

Time to pack up and head to Gisborne! ❀ x
